FRAME HOSKINS HOUSE
Situated in an idyllic location in western Marin County, this was an extensive remodel of a 1940s ranch house. The floor plan and the landscape were reworked to vastly improve the connections of the indoors to the site. New decks, stairs, doors, patios and bay windows take advantage of the spectacular views and provide easier access to the yard and the beach beyond.
The remodel included many energy efficiency upgrades and the new roof hosts a native garden and photovoltaic panels. In addition, the house showcases green materials and local craftsmanship including extensive use of salvaged and FSC sustainably harvested wood with low and non-toxic finishes, natural plaster walls, durable stone finishes, and bamboo cabinets.
